Hi,

Has anyone an idea how I can get a component through a knowing feature ?

I read the feature manager structure of a modeldoc2 with .firstfeature and then .getnextfeature.
I figure out the feature with 'REFERENCE' and then I wan't to get access to the component with these given feature.

My scope is to retrieve the correct order of referenced documents in the feature manager tree.
.getchildren (seems to be the best way) did not work, because it doesn't care for the structure in the tree

I'm looking for a general way in SW 2005.

Christian

There are two ways I can think of.
1) I can't remember whether or not this will work, but you could try using the Entity interface on the feature and then using Entity.GetComponent.

2) Use feature.Select and then use SelectionMgr.GetSelectedObjectsComponent2

Hope that helps,

Hi Jonathan,

thank you very much. It was a nice idea to work with selection manager. It works very fine.

In the next step I try the Entity interface.
