NX 6 or later: Is there a setting somewhere that allows me to get rid of the extra space the system puts in between the end of a dimension and the start of appended text that you add? For example:
Dimension / My Appended Text
System creates: 0.287<sp>, 2X
What I want: 0.287, 2X

How do I get rid of the <sp>?

You can reduce the character spacing, but that's it.
The way you are doing it is not according to drafting standards, but I can understand you frustration - on occasion it would be nice to have that space removed.

OR follow standard drafting practices of ASME Y14.5 which is to use Appended text Before the dimension.

2X 0.287
