Getting X Y Z coordinates of the points on a structure

Hi,
I would like to know whether it is possible to get X Y Z coordinates on deformed structure.
The structure is about 30 m long and 8 m wide.It is being fabricated and has to meet certain strict tolerances.
I want to know whether it would be possible to get X Y Z coordinates of certain points on the structure using total station.
Of course X Y Z coordinates system will need to be setup, but once it has been established, is it possible to get the coordinates.
Other related aspect is whether it would be possible to get the coordinates without using reflectors.

Have you talked to any laser tracking, 3D laser photometric people?

They can do a complete surface scan of the entire piece.
