I'm installing a 3/4 HP high speed blower on a mast under a canopy for cooling purposes. (fancy horse barn) Does that fan have to be installed on a GFCI circuit? I'm hard wiring this fan to a dedicated 20A circuit (no receptacle, no plug, just a wall switch). Everything I've found so far in NEC 210.8 refers to receptacles.

The only thing I can think of that this compares to would be a AC unit or heat pump, of which I don't recall ever being installed on a GFCI circuit.
