Are there any good references for glass design and the design of components - shoe moulding, epoxy, etc?

There's software out there for the actual window glass design..WGD2004 or later.

As for the accessories, you're on your own. Apply typical design parameters and design techniques.

Like Ron says, you're on your own for the components. I use ASTM E1300 for the glass design. I developed tables with Excel that extend what is in the ASTM - they're fairly limited. Also, DuPont has a program that will design the glass - if you are using laminated glass DuPont has Sentry glass which is it's own proprietary interlayer that has better creep characteristics than the interlayer that's assumed in ASTM E-1300. This helps with strength and deflection, especially for longer term loads ( long term in glass design is greater than 3 seconds).

We design glass handrail systems. But it is difficult to find a specification. We have used basic engineering principals and ASTM properties for the material. I purchased a Glass Institute spec, but it provided minimal information. If you can describe your specific design need, maybe we have an example. Julius Blum has many catalog items for glass and some simple design information.
