Right now, there is no way for Global Variables to be configured or controlled by a design table...which makes them...well...not too useful.
Recently in a few situations where I really needed a Global Variable that could be configured, I have taken to creating a dummy sketch, consisting only of construction geometry that is not used in the model. I call the sketch GlobalVar, and I just draw some circles...with the diameter equal to the Global Variable value I want to be able to configure. I then hide the sketch. I can use this value in an equations, and link it to CPs, etc. It can be configured, and controlled by a design table.
Other than not being too elegant, I have not really found any downside to this. Am I missing something....or is this a reasonable work around where a configurable Global Variable is needed.
