Hey everyone, just wanted to share an article I read recently surrounding globe valves for Steam Applications.

The article discusses all of the unseen advantages that globe valves have to offer which include regulating flow. Globe valves are designed to stop, start, and regulate the flow of a specific medium in linear motion. This is why they are preferred when comparing with gate valves who have an all or nothing approach.

Anecdote alert:
In an instsllation where condensate lines were run overhead a bank of gate valves were installed with the handles down.
Pipe scale blocked the grooves.
Valves became inoperative in one day.
Replaced with globe valves.
