Glueless and screwless waterproof plastic enclosure

Hey guys,

I want to design my own plastic enclosure that is waterproof (maybe 3D print it). In basic terms, it would be a rectangular basin type design with a lid that fits over the top. Once it fits over the top. It should not be able to be removed.

I want to avoid using glue or screws. What are my other options?
I was thinking that a snap fit design might work but it may not be possible to make it waterproof.

How waterproof? Everything leaks if you have a sensitive enough measuring system. For very low pressure differential you may be able to get a snap fit to give a "waterproof" seal. Zip lock bags do it all the time. If your requirements are more severe you will probably need some kind of elastomeric seal.

Snap fit plus an elastomeric seal, perhaps something like this:

I wouldn't recommend trying to 3D print a waterproof enclosure as most 3D printable materials are porous and readily allow water through. Ultrasonic welding can produce a hermetic seal or snaps with a gasket like dgallup and CoryPad said would work.
