I have a 20 year old PC ABS mix injection molded part that has some pieces broken off it , the part has suffered some UV damage over the years , and is pretty crispy , I have another identical part and am wondering about cutting and gluing pieces from one to the other , I am thinking about using Trichloromethane as a solvent glue. I am wondering if there are more suitable solvents out there for this plastic such as styrene monomer which I have or MEK . Part is opaque . Glue needs to be transparent. This is a decorative trim and has no loads on it after it is put back into place.

MEK will act as a cement, cyanoacrylates glue ABS very well.

Politicians like to panic, they need activity. It is their substitute for achievement.

Thanks Pud,
I have MEK .

Follow up,
I got the job done, started with MEK then a friend described a clear commercial ABS cement which had ABS plastic, MEK, cyclohexanone, and acetone in it.
This seemed to work quite well, and had some gap filling properties.
