Good afternoon,

I have a 4 inch glycol line (at chill water temp) that needs to be insulated since it is running outdoors along side a vertical wall at 10 ft.AFF. What is a common insulation thickness for Houston,TX. What is the bright metallic jacket called that is over the pipe insulation. Is it Aluminum or other material. How would I specify this material and the pipe insulation density/material?

Sorry,
I also need any references to find wall support brackets for this pipe-mounted to a vertical wall at 10 ft AFF.

Thanks,

You can find most insulation recommended thicknesses to prevent condensation on an insulation manuf. web site. Try Armaflex, or Knauf.
The cover is aluminum, and or pvc. To prevent physical damage to the insulation.
