Hi All,

I have design\constructed a twin engine classic Mini Clubman estate for racing purposes, this was initally using 2 manual F20 gearboxes but I am currently converting to using 2 GM 4T40E transmissions.

When using the manual boxes I was able to run just the front engine for long distance fuel economy and leave the rear in neutral. When using the front engine only I will be using an electric auxilary pump to provide fluid to the bearings etc of the rear trans while the rear engine isn't running.

My question is if the mechanical selector on the 4T40E gearbox only engages\disengages the Park function of the gearbox with the rest of the positions R,N,D etc being fully controlled electronically?

This would make installation much easier not needing to add in the design to enable disconnection of the gear selector in the car to run on front engine only.

Many Thanks,
Mike
