GMAW / FCAW 2

OK gentlemen and welders I am being told that under ASME sec IX if a welder Certifies under GMAW he is automatically qualified for FCAW using the same WPS I can't find anything under section IX that leads me to believe this. If you have an answer could you please reference code and sec.

According to AWS D1.1, the welding process is an "Essential Variable". Therefore welder re-qualification is required.
