I'm helping with some pre-stressed concrete design (Canada) but often feel ignorant to many nuances and details of pre-stressed concrete design. I'd like to have a good reference text I can pour into to learn much more. Currently I've been referring to the CPCI design manual which has been adequate, but would like to hear engineer's opinions on other texts which may be better/worthwhile.

Thank you,
Gordon

Are you wishing to restrict your texts to precast PRE-tensioned prestressed concrete, or extend to all forms of prestressing, including post-tensioning?

I personally like PRESTRESSED CONCRETE by Collins and Mitchell. Link

But this is a theory-based text on prestressed concrete generally, with historical background, solid subject matter, and research references, so not that good for practical design.

I'll put my vote in for Naaman's Prestressed Concrete Analysis and Design. Good book, very heavy into the theory but a good amount of practical information as well. I bought it as I'm in a similar situation where I sometimes deal with aspects of prestressed design but rarely do a full design and want to expand my knowledge on the subject.

The PCI is offering a 6 week on line course for prestressed concrete staring in October.

Thank you for your recommendations. @bridgebuster, I've looked into the course and will likely be enrolling, thank you for the tip! Have you taken this course? I'm hoping it will still be relatively applicable to Canadian design.

@GordonInghamLesyk - you're welcome. I didn't take the course. We had a rep from PCI at our office on Thursday give a presentation on ABC (accelerated bridge construction). She mentioned it as part of the PCI sales pitch. It looks like a good program.
