I did some searching on this forum and did not fine what I'm looking for.
We fairly successfully silver braze (some EZ braze filler) tungsten carbide tiles, and ferrous cast wear resistant pads to steel.
Assemblies from 3 to 10-15 lbs.
To prep the machined parts just prior to brazing we wire brush the surfaces, then run the parts thru an automated spray cleaner charged with some caustic cleaner.
My concern is many of these cleaners claim to leave a thin rust inhibitor film.
We are a getting ready to do a few "wetting" tests on parts cleaned with one of these products, so I may have my answer for this product in the next few days.
Regardless I'd like to know if folks have any proven favorites for final chemical cleaning prior to brazing.
thanks,
Dan T
