Hello!

I'm wondering, if the graphics card important is for displaying the Geometry, Elements or Results. My problem is, that I have to wait too long, to move a deformed shape of my modell, due to too much elements, even with PowerGraphics on. So I'm thinking to buy a better graphics card, but which one?

Thanks!

Alex

Alex,
Give a Quadro FX a try. The more memory you have for your card the better. I have an FX 4500 and its performance is nothing short of amazing. Even a FX1400 or FX3500 should perform great. What's probably happening is your model contains too much information to store in the video cards memory at once so it has to retrieve new information from the database or result file and process it accordingly.

I have 2 systems running ansys, one with quadrofx 3450 and the other with geforce 6800GT, and both are excellent, with a huge price difference. If you can afford pro opengl cards, go for the quadro line, otherwise, try and get the 6800GT or ULTRA. those are modifiable to quadro using riva tuner.
