Hi

Please could some one help if possible. We haev recently upgraded our machines to.

P4 3.2
2 gig ram
Intel 865 m/board
Gainward 6800 ultra 256mb

I am having a problem with this graphics card in UG v18.05
No problems in NX2, but problems with catia ver.5 R14. Within catia the whole model smudges, and within UG 18.05, it freezes after a few rotations, and zooms. has anybody else had problems with these cards? Please help have bought 5 of these cards.

This looks to be a graphics card aimed at the computer gaming crowd, and as such it most likely has optimizations in its drivers that favor speed rather than precision. Also, its drivers are probably tested more for Direct 3D rather than Open GL (which I'm pretty sure is what UG uses). None of this is to say that it is a bad card that won't work for you, but you may have to do some experimentation with drivers to find one that works best (it may not be the latest version that does the trick).

That card is optimized for the PC Gaming industry, not MCAD design. Wityh that said, I have a Radeon 9800 Pro which is in the same class and it works fine on UG V18, UGNX and Pro/E wildfire.

I have the same problem with nvidia quatro pro in dell workstation. I am in NX2. Any suggestions?

Luckily I'm running NX2 on an Intel Xeon 2.8GHz, 2GB RAM, with an Nvidia Quadro FX 3400. Hehe. It screams. Even when solving something in Ansys with Patran open too.

When we went from UG 16 to 18, our quadro cards could not render models consistently. We had to bump up to nvidia XGL700/750 cards. Those still run OK and do well with NX. We recently upgraded and use nvidia FX1300s. Those do well also. We are fairly frugal, so these cards are not the best available but do the job for us very well. My 2 cents.
