We are contemplating a formal Code inquiry seeking an increase in ASME Code max allowable stress (MAS) values for gray cast iron when the component is inspected (MT, RT or possibly even AE) to regular (or new) flaw acceptance criteria.
I am interested in any non-N.American code MAS values for GCI and whether codes anywhere allow some credit for inspecting GCI.
By the way, GCI appears to be THE ONLY material not granted any credit for verified quality by the ASME codes and the reasons for this are well hidden (and I think, most unreasonable).

I'm anxious to find out how this is treated elsewhere...and to hear any other words of wisdom.
