Hi:
I am verifying a GIH conform to API 6A standard. I dont understand when I must use each performance requirement PR1 or PR2. Due to the standard doesn't classifies this type of equipment, in chapter 14 it ressembles a crossover and indicates a cycle requirement for each PR level. Can anyone explain me what that significates? Thank you.

A grease injection head is not an item within the scope of API 6A. API 6A is not applicable to items outside its scope.

It is up to the purchaser to specify the required performance requirement.

Many of the PR cycle requirements in API 6A are not well-defined. A reasonable interpretation of the requirement in 14.8.2.1 / Table 43 is that the crossover connector should be capable of sealing rated working pressure internally for 1 cycle (between no pressure - MAWP - no pressure) for PR1 or 3 such cycles for PR2, but this is not defined in API 6A.
