Looking for some idea how to calculate power requirements for grinding and drilling granite. Looking to grind 1/4"-3/8 bevel around rectangular granite block (4" thk) and also drill up to 12" dia hole using standard hole saw. Speed is whatever is considered typical for granite. Thanks.

hi,
look my mr.,i know that drilling brittle materials like granite must be on low speeds relatively.....and it must be done on a machine with very low and damped vibrations..........a 12'' hole.......if the ratio between length and diameter of hole is more than 1:2 so that where the problem starts...and obviuosly there is no problem......the problem will be in fixation and vibrations.
