Gentleman,

I am finding a need for driving special tools (such as Huele COFA deburr tools) more and more. I would like to create a routine that allows me (us) to define motion in the tool axis, preferably as variables, be able to pick multiple points to do the repetitive motion. Kind of like a special cycle sort of thing.

I would have tried it in GRIP but I'm told GRIP is dead and I should look at journals in the language of my choice.

Sooo.... Do you guys have any advice and maybe a pointer toward some examples to get me started.

Regards, Franklin

GRIP is not dead, just that new functionality will NOT be supported by GRIP, but programs can still be written and executed, as long as the GRIP functions that you need are supported in the current version of NX. At least, that was the situation the last time I was involved in the product.

Grip is still working.
I am regularly running a tiny Grip function that displays all text objects as a box around the text, including Notes mapped to empty attributes, These notes are else are impossible to select/move/etc.
Back in the Unigraphics time there was , if i remember it correct, three modes in which text could be displayed, Regular, Fastfont and Box . ( uncertain of the correct terms here.)
For setting up and checking drafting templates this is very usable.

Tomas
