I am looking for guidance regarding the assessment of ground loading capacity for mobile crane outriggers.

Within the UK BS5975 - Code of practise for Falsework gives recommendations to the above. (although not directly related)

Is there a US equivalent or What is the current method of assessment?

Thanks

We treat the crane loading like any other surcharge and check the retaining structure or open slope for bearing, wedge failure, sliding or overturing as the case may be. Factor of safety is usually 1.5 minimum based on known soil strength parameters.
