In my projects I have 9 KSB horizonal booster pumps, MULTITEC Type, the manufacturer's recommendation for installing the pumps baseplates call for the following :
Text : "shims shall be fitted between the baseplate/foundation frame and the foundation itself. For bolt-to-bolt clearance > 800mm, additional shims shall be used. Baseplate more than 400 mm wide shall be grouted up to the upper frame edge using low shrinkage concrete"
All the 9 pumps have baseplates of more than 400mm wide, My concern is about the final level of grouting. Is the upper frame edge mean the same as the upper level of the baseplate ? I'm confused because after grouting the whole baseplate to the top it will be fixed for ever ? I attached a photo for the pump showing the level that I think grout should reach it ? Please confirm to me the level of grouting ????
