Anybody had a chance to review this publication yet?

On the one hand, I long ago committed myself to reading anything that Sabelli deigned to author.

One the other hand, $300USD for the cheapest option is like $7.3B Canadian at the moment. It would need to be good.

Is this rocking anybody's world??

Anybody know if it's a regular PDF vs the DRM kind? I hate the overhead of weird DRM apps. Past NCEES stuff that I have purchase has always been non-DRM.

I'm not super into examples vs theory. But sometimes you get the theory in the context of the examples.

Completely agree on Sabelli. I bought the previous edition when it came out. I don’t have it anymore, but I recall being somewhat disappointed by its lack of depth and overlap with other publications. If you’ve got the SEAOSC Seismic Design Manuals and Bluebook and have seen some other design examples published by WoodWorks, FEMA, etc., I would skip this one.

I have the 2012 SEAOSC one. It's not very detailed either. It's one of those things where it's better than nothing. The visual examples do help, but it's not very in-depth.

@Deker / @milkshakelake: thanks for the candid reviews. I'll pass on this. Way too expensive to be disappointed. I already got burned on a new edition of Bruneau / Sabelli's book on ductile steel design earlier this month. For the second in addition in a row, the binding is worthless. Book falls apart as you read it.
