I am trying to find someone who might have information on the general design, construction, and operation of H.W. Butterworth and Sons Steam Cans/Rollers/Dryer Rolls. At my new job I have a dryer unit after a dip tank operation that uses a series of 7 heated rollers that were made by H.W. Butterworth and Sons of Benwaryes PA in 1961. Unfortunately I have no drawings or technical information besides what is listed on the drum name plates. They are fed steam via a 2 port rotary coupling (Deublin) the center port from each coupling exhausts to an individual steam trap which drains to a collection tank which pumps the water back to the boiler supply.
I know that H.W. Butterworth was bought up by Van Norman Industries in 1955 and became a subsidiary of the same (Van Norman bought up a number of companies such a Morse Twist Drill) eventually it became part of a large holding company Universal American which I don't think is even in the tooling or machinery sector any more.
Any leads would be appreciated.
