Where can I find a table providing the relevant fits for clearance fit? I have a hole dimension that is "H7" and I need to find the relevant range.

Thanks!

From the definition of ISO fits: Any combination of "H" hole with the shaft marked with letter located before "H" in the alphabet, creates the clearance fit. The closer the shaft tolerance letter is to "a", the more clearance you create (H7/g6 creates a small clearance; H7/b6 creates large clearance) The actual sizes depend on the number after the letter (like 7 in your H7 hole) and the reference (sometimes called nominal) dimension of the parts.
We discussed the ISO fits here before, try to search within these fora.

A google search should turn up several resources, including possibly a calculator.

Also this type of question comes up quite often as gearguru says, the site search function isn't great but a google search of this site, see top of page, works fairly well.

KENAT,

Kenat,
there is the link to the fit calculator in my first reply.

I know gearguru.

However, rule 1 of the forum policies is:

1. Please conduct internet-based research (such as Google.com) and review the site FAQs, along with performing an Eng-Tips.com site search prior to posting a new question on these fora.

I suspect doing so would have made this question unnecessary, which was the point I was trying to make.

Thanks for all of your replies. Apologies for not properly searching previous posts/threads - this is my first time using the site and I was not familiar with search techniques or posting guidelines... many google (standard) searches before posting came up empty.

Thanks again - especially CoryPad with the link to the table.

Sorry, Kenat.
I (and CoryPad obviously too) just tried to help a novice.
We did. CENSMR is new here. He got the message and I am sure he'll be back often. To send him to google only would not help him, he did not know what exactly to look for. ISO fits can be confusing.

GG, if you and Cory hadn't already given links I would have thrown one in, I wasn't lambasting the OP just trying to nudge them in the right direction for next time.

I googled "clearance fit h7" and the below was the 2nd result.

CENSMR - I wasn't making a dig I've done google searches before that didn't come up with what I thought they would, also the search function on this site isn't great but the google search of Eng -Tips above is OK.
