What is the significance of calculating half cycle peak current during short circuit study ? Whether it will effect the circuit breaker ratings only or the bus bar ratings also?

Half cycle peak current is the highest short-circuit current and this value is required for selecting circuit breaker's Making current and bracing (supporting) of bus bars
