Hello all,
I was checking the ASME Code Sec. VIII Div.1, Nonmandatory Appendix EE (half-pipe jackets) and it caught my attention that the proposed calculation procedure only applies for vessels with positive pressure inside the shell (and positive pressure inside the half-pipe jacket, which for me it is OK). Any material or thought on how this would change for vessels that may operate under negative pressures inside the shell?
Also, I was wondering if you could share any experience or anything regarding repairs due to leaks on weld failures on the half-pipe jacket as well. Specifically, half-pipe jackets running thermal fluid inside it. How to preventive monitor this failures and what are the possible causes and solutions for this? I do have some ideas, but I would love to hear your thoughts if possible. I've been struggling to find any material on this.
