Hi Everyone,
I was recently given the task to update a hydrology/hydraulics model that a previous engineer no longer with my company had developed.
Let me describe the project. It is a small private subdivision with storm water flows been directed into an underground detention system known as a Hancor Landsaver Storm Management System( ). After the storm water is detained by this system, a metering structure (basically a weir within a manhole) determines the storm event flows that are let out onto the public storm drain system.
Now, when I went into the project files, I noticed that there were two StormCAD files. One modeling the system from the private subdivision to just before the Landsaver structure. Then spreadsheets modeling the Landsaver and metering structures. And finally a second StormCAD file modeling just after the metering structure to the outfall at the public main system.
My questions are: have any of you model any such products like the Landsaver and Metering structures in StormCAD? Does the latest StormCAD have these capabilites. I also have access to StormNET which I just recently began to use. I imagine that the Landsaver system is no different than a Detention Pond structure as modeled in Stormnet. Am I making the right assumption? I know Stormnet has weir structure capabilties so this should not be a problem.
My ideal situation would be to model everything in one file, wether it be StormCAD or StormNet rather than having separte analyses.
In the meantime, I have placed a call to a Hancor rep in my area to see what he suggests. I know their web site has spreadsheet available for initial design. Any input from anyone that has encountered such a scenerio before is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
