we are making valve disk & nozzle by stainless steel 316 and hard faced the seat with stellite #6/6B. Is it possible to weld nozzle/disk 410 stainless steel welded with Inco 625 or alloy C276 followed by welding with stellite #6/6B to make seat. That means on the bottom (base metal) 410 ss welded with Inco 625 or alloy C276 then weld (hardface) with stellite #6/6B.

Thanks

Yes, you can deposit Stellite 6 over an austenitic weld deposit provided proper welding requirements are followed for welding 410 stainless steel.

But 410 stainless steel is a martensitic grade with no Nickel content. Should it possible to make 410 stainless steel (as a base metal) welded with Inco 625 or alloy C276 followed by welding with stellite #6/6B as seat face for a nozzle or disk.

Thanks

Yes, provided the 410 stainless steel has an austenitic overlay - like 625 or C-276 or Inco Weld A. Depositing Stellite 6 on 410 martensitic stainless steel will result in cracking, which is why you need a weld overlay (or butter layer).
