Hardening maraging 300

Hi,

I would like to use M300 as a needle bearing inner race.

Is there a mathod to harden M300 to 57-60 Rc other than nitriding? Maybe induction?

According to ASM Handbook on Surface Engineering, surface hardening of 18Ni(300) is achieved by nitriding or by plasma (ion) nitriding.

 
As metengr noted, maraging steels can be nitrided in order to attain that type of hardness. Maraging steels do not respond to induction heating the same way that martensitic steels (carbon content from ~ 0.2-1.0% by mass) do, meaning they cannot be hardened in this manner.
 
Why would you use a very expensive high strength alloy and then surface harden it? Why not a more conventional alloy steel or even a tool steel?
The maraging grades are great when you need the strength and have reasons to avoid Q&T. These grades don't have very good fatigue strength.

The 18Ni(300)and other standard maraging grades possess both high fracture toughness and fatigue strength.

Thank you all for the fast responses.
I do need the high strength and good fatigue resistance but, I didn't want to nitride, as I figured it out that the only method.
