Hello friends,
i am facing some problem in hardening Die Steel Plates of width 2 inches and width 1 feet, actually they warp while hardening, i have to harden 3 such plates at a time, can anybody suggest how the hardening should be carried out to rempve or minimise such a defect.
Thank you for any help.

Comeback with more information.

What is the material?

What is your current heat treatnment procedure?

How much warpage?

If the plates are air hardening type then your work is easy. if they need faster rate of cooling then design a hanger so that the plates can be suitably hung vertically and during quenching maintain the same . Avoid the plates falling face flat during quenching. These measures will help reduce warpage, but not eliminate.

Depending on what sort of tolerances you need you may need to blanchard grind/flycut/etc... after hardening to meet required geometry.
