Hardwired Vs Fibre Optic link For F&G And ESD systems in gas plant

Dear All

I would like that some one can confirm the fusibility of using fiber optic instead of usual hard wire for the safety system F&G and ESD system.

If fiber optic is fusible, what are the required standards that shall be followed.
