Hi fellows,
I need to compare and understand the best equipment available in the market that reduces THD (Total harmonic distortion). I am not concern about the money but the waste of energy. I know the use of k-rated transformers, lowpass filters and broadband filters. But they all waste energy(except k-rated Tr).
Does anybody know a product that filters the harmonic (reduce THD) and that harmonic components are processed and converted to the fundamental component and sends back to the load. The main idea of this power conditioner is not to lose the energy of the harmonic components.
Thanks

Suggestion: There are active harmonic filters and hybrid harmonic filters that are more attractive than the passive harmonic filters and K-rated do nothing transformer. Visit
and type Filters: Harmonic under Product or Service that will return 43 companies to inquire about efficient harmonic filters

Any device used to reduce harmonics will use some energy.

Also, the harmonic currents do not necessarily represent wasted energy. It depends on the end-use equipment as to how effectively it will operate on a voltage source with harmonic voltages present.

Lastly, even if harmonic current components are considered "wasted" energy, the actual amount of energy lost is generally small, since the overall rms value of current is the square root of the sum of the squares.
