Hi.
I would like open next Pandora's box.
2-nd harmonic it's inrush .
5-th harmonic it's overvoltages.
3-th harmonic ( I think) capacitors.
What are other sources of harmonics and when current harmonics movied to voltages? I'm hope it my Q is correct.
Best Regards.

Current harmonics have many sources. Transformer magnetization is one. The main concern of late has been power electronics like rectifiers, computer power supplies, and variable frequency motor drives where the current is restricted during part of the cycle. The resultant distorted current waveform can be resolved into harmonic components by Fourier analysis.

Voltage harmonics result when harmonic currents flow through an impedance. The impedance to certain harmonics can become quite high when there are capacitive and inductive elements involved and can be in resonance at the harmonic frequency.

I forgot to add. Harmonics and ferroresonce can be blamed for just about anything that goes wrong by an enterprising engineer. [lightsaber]
