Has anyone got a simple soldier pile retaining wall design method?

I am looking for a simplified design method for a soldier pile wall. I have the more complex ones that require iteration, but i was once taught a much simpler version, that I have since forgotten!
It is just for small walls

With simplifications come assumptions that do not match support conditions. For example, you can use the flagpole equation in the IBC but your embedment depth will be too great and you are assuming a point loading instead of distributed triangular loading.

You can try to take you active pressure down to the soldier beam tip. You required D will be equal to H /((Kp/Ka)^0.333 - 1), but this will give large maximum moment. Also you will need to multiply your calculated D by 1.3.

You can try to assume a depth of fixity below the dredge line but again your beam is not really fixed at 4 ft below base of excavation.

So it is easier & more accurate to draw all you backfill and surcharge pressures on one side and then resist it with passive triangle or trapezoid if you have cohesion. Then find your maximum moment location and magnitude.

 
Check out Golder and Seychuk's paper on the construction of the Toronto Spadina line - it is in one of the Pan-American Geotechnical Conferences - 1960s. It is quite a good little reference on soldier pile supported excavations.
