When I go into Product in Catia, I've been creating these sections throughout a part and when I hit Okay in the dialog box the section just goes away. I've seen it go in the tree under the Applications at the bottom before and suddenly it just stopped doing it. Is there a setting that controls that or an option? Anybody know?

You need the Space Analysis (SPA) license in order to save Sections.

How do I find out what type of license I have?

lum or DSLS.. or talk to your admin

Okay, well thanks to all. I found that I do not have that license. But a couple of days ago it was letting me create the sections and putting them under Applications at the bottom of the tree. Thats why I was even aware of it. Just another Catia mystery I guess.

Ferdo, I have the feeling that what is available in Licensing (or shareable) panel is actually all the CATIA modules installed.

We do install all packages and I see many option for which I know we do not have license.

Yeah, I looked in the licensing panel and also saw the (SPA) license that is not available to me.

yes, but you can see which one is granted and which is not.

How can you see that before making any selection?

Hi,

Only with LUM or DSLS you can see that before, I completely agree with Eric. I've done long time ago a vbscript to "interogate" the LUM server (never worked with DSLS which is the new way to keep the licenses) to be able to show to the users almost same thing.

But usually users they are not even aware about Basic License Tool...so most of them are looking in Licensing Panel, at least this is what I noticed.

Fernando

there is a separate Options button in the start menu. look under Tools. from there you can view the licensing tab.
