Hello All,
I have a LNG tank which is driven by hydraulic pack system. I know that the classification for tank would be rating of class 1 div 1 or class 1 div 2. Per NFPA 59A. depend on the components.
What my wondering is, what is the classification for hydraulic pack system?? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi George2013,

Welcome to eng-tips!

Classifying an area or the area around a machine is not something I can help with over the internet. I'd need all the design drawings and the answers to all the questions I would have about those drawings.

If it's an existing plant, I'd need to lay eyes on it up close.

Either is too much for a tips forum, in my opinion.

Your best bet is going to be a local electrical engineer with hazardous location experience. Sorry!

Best to you,

Goober Dave
