hdpe chilled water pipe insulation thickness 2

Hi,

We are using hdpe pipes for chilled water. When i tried to use 3Eplus Naima software for calculating insulation, there is no option available for HDPE.
There are 4 options for "Base metal"
Stainless Steel, Steel, Copper, PVC.

How to proceed further , please let me know.

I would like to know the appropriate insulation thickness required for 5" HDPE piping using Nitrile rubber as insulation material.
Chilled water temperature is 6 degree celsius and Ambient is 36 degree celsius.

Use PVC. You won't be far away. PVc is a little better than PE, but proper nitrile rubber insulation as opposed to nitrile rubber itself is about 10 times better (0.03 w/mK) than PE so it really is not doing much for you at the thickness of the pipe.

Insulation in my state is governed by the 2021 IECC; it's a very straightforward table and pipe material is not part of the discussion. That table calls for 1" thick insulation for the case you're describing but I don't know if that code pertains wherever you are.
