HDPE vs PVC valves 1

Hello everyone,

Well this time I have to find some 8-10" butterfly and check valves, made from HDPE.
Now, I saw that PVC is the most common type of material and the cheapest as well, I want to know if my requirement of HDPE valves could be replaced by PVC valves?
What would be the advantages or disadvantages of selecting a PVC valves instead of a HDPE valve? My piping will be made from HDPE, so the contraction and expansion of materials would be different, so that is a disadvantage. A water pump will carry water through the piping.

Both HDPE and PVC pipes should be fine for water service however HDPE and PVC both have limited resistance against sunlight/UV exposure so trust you already have a shed or some sort of protection.

U-PVC would be the preferred option if the water is supposed to be used for living beings else C-PVC is better for a little higher temperatures.

The other option is to use metallic valves (SS316 for potable water or Ductile iron with coating for other uses).
