Healing tool (application)

Could someone please elaberate on the healing function and it's potential application with or for wireframe/surface.

Healing is a function which will allow you
to grab a bunch of surfaces that may have
holes or gaps in them or between them and then
"heal" or fill in those holes or gaps.

You set a tolerance of how big of an
opening you want catia to look for and also
set a tolerance of how tight you want your
surface's "healed". There are more options
in this dialog box but for simple healing the
above listed tolerances will get you good surfaces
most of the time.

I find this tool especially helpful when I am
required to use geometry that is iges or
translated from another system.
