Can anyone explain what happens to the crystaline structure of 0.5mm aluminium sheet when it is plasma cut at 12m/min, please? We're trying to understand why the sheet distorts in order to establish how to correct it.
I know it sounds axiomatic ... but think about it!
The approx. heat from a plasma arc torch at 20A is 25K deg.C
The phenomina we're interested in understanding is why the parts tend to curl upwards and not randomly.
Any one?!
