Machine-room-less elevator with the drive motors at the top of the shaft. Has anyone seen these installed?
How is the motor heat (in my case just under a ton for two elevators) controlled?
I would think the operation of the elevator in the shaft may take care of it. On the other hand the motors are in a raised area of the roof.

The motor heat is removed by the elevator damper vent opening at 85 degF (along with fire alarm and loss of power, depending on your local code).

Even though it doesn't require a "machine room", it still has control panels that require locating and believe it or not, cooling. Don't forget the panel cooling requirements.

The last time I did one of these you needed a vent at the top and the bottom.
