Hello guys ,
I'm working on a thesis on Air cooling installation in a refinery , i would like to have some information about the topic (books, article , publication) in English, French, Romanian and Spanish . I found a lot of Informations about this kind of heat exchanger but nothing specifically applied in oil and gas industry (refinery plant) . I would be really glad if someone could help me .

I would emphasize how these HXs must be of robust construction for demanding oil & gas service.

I would also mention how the engineering need to mount these HXs high in the plant means that they must be considered early in the design process and will often control the design of the main pipe rack.

Also in the GPSA and in Perry Chem Engg Handbook. Air coolers must be installed with the cooler deck at least 25ft above a grade where hydrocarbon liquid pools could collect. Also know how to select between forced draft and induced draft options. Cooling duty turndown requirements may necessitate options such as VFD fans for some applications and winterizing in some colder climate locations. Get an experienced materials selection engineer to assist with materials of construction for tubes, fins and header boxes.
