Reference to above thread i have a question, can any one help with good solution. Iam working in site we have heat exchangers with expansion bellow. Do we require to insulate the expansion bellow?
The temperature at this portion is 230deg C, already consider the thermal analysis for heat loss at this portion. Our advice is if the bellow area is within the reach of plant personnel, then mesh type personnel protection can be provided or with thermal blankets

Please advice

chiru123pc, I am not certain but I believe they are rarely if ever insulated. Common practice is they be fitted with a metal protective cover, typically by the vessel fabricator. Due to the fragility of the joint I'd prefer that over mesh.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Flexible and removable thermal insulation can be used. Search in Google.
