Hi,

I have a composite wall of two layers of materials A and B tightly fitted to one another.
The cross-sectional area of A and B are not equal.

Questions:
- is the conduction Q through material A and B equal?

If so, then the heat flux (Q/cross-sectional area) through material A and B are not equal, right?

If Q isn't being stored up or drained out, like a transient case, then what else would one expect to happen?

Amount of heat transfer 'Q' depends upon the thermal resistivity/conductivity of the materials. However, once the material reaches it maximum heat holding capacity it transfer all heat. Hence, 'Q' should be same for A and B materials.

But the heat flux/rate of heat transfer would be different based on the thermal conductivity of the different materials
