Hi everyone.

I'd like to know if there is a way to know (graphics, formulae, etc.) the heat rate for gas turbine that is not operating at full load (22MW, 93F Tamb, sea level) but at 19 MW, 59F, sea level.

Thanks in advance.

Strictly you an engine model based on full component matching to predict this, because the component characteristics have a strong influence of the engine performance at off-design conditions.

OEMs may be able to give you some correlation in a graphical form to predict what you are asking for.

I trust this helps.

Best wishes,

We have an OEM supplied curve that shows heat consumption vs. MW load. It is fairly linear. the big issue is that about 25% of the full load fuel flow is required BEFORE the machine is even synchronized, so at that point the heat rate is infinite. At lower load you heat rate will definitely be worse than full load, but how much worse will depend on the slope of the fuel flow vs. load chart.
