Good Day All,

Has anyone ever had to find a submersible hose that will be subject to extreme cold temperatures (about -40C)? I'm currently working on design for a project where a hose will need to be partially submersed in an outdoor mine water sump. We are trying to reach out to local vendors and ask if they can supply a heat traced flexible connection for our sump pump. I'm curious if anyone else may have had to deal with similar scenarios and if perhaps they took a different route.

Thanks

Something like this? Plenty come up by searching "heat traced hose"....
Or are you looking for alternatives?

If you can use solid pipe then insulated pipe using a variety of different systems is possible.

How big and how long?
What pressure?

why a flexible or "hose"

Are you protecting against external temperature but need to contents just above freezing?

A few more details would help a lot.

Yes, lots of searches come up but I wasn't able to find a flanged hose, like the one you found.

Length? I would estimate around 5-10M but there are still some unknowns in the design. I believe it's going to be a 4" line, to be used as an intake hose for the sump pump that will be next to the sump.

The flexible connection is required because due to this being outdoors and in an open-pit mine, equipment always will be moving about. It may have to be moved from time to time.

The heat tracing is what we want to use to prevent freezing of the portion of the submersed portion.

Thanks for the help.
