I have calculated the flow within a closed end tube where water impacts the blanked off end and flows up the inside walls of the tube. For the vertical walls I can calculate the heat transfer coefficient from reference books for flow in annular regions, but how do you calculate the heat transfer coefficient on the blanked off end, or generally anwhere, for that matter?
