I'm converting a HEC-2 effective model from FEMA for a CLOMR analysis and this one bridge is giving me a hard time.
The "open area" in HEC2 for pressure flow is basically the same as the open area of the bridge without the pier. The total pier width is 20ft and the total width of the opening is only 125ft so changing the Cd proportionally like I normally would isn't really working (works for 100-yr and 500-yr storm events, but 50-year still jumps up by ~1.2ft from the effective model).
Really don't want to have to get a survey done since this isn't anywhere near our project site on the stream. Any ideas?
