Hello. I want to ask, if here is anyone, who could help me. I want to extract data from GIS (version 9.1) to HEC-RAS 3.1.3. I created all important parts of project as stream centerlines, bank lines, flou path centerlines andcross-sectional cut lines. (Ewerzthing was created by manual). As a last step I wanted to extract data to Hec Ras, but it dousent work. I have in my folder two files: one is *.xml, the other is *sdf, but they look empty (the xml format has only 118 kb, sdf format has 464 kb). Please, do anyone knou, where the mistake is?

The files shouldn't be large. The one thing I have found is that your GIS tin or dem layer should be in UTM meters. The new ArView productsare good in thatyou don't have to worry about your base data projections, but for some reason I have never got anything other than meter datato work. As a precaution I convert the dem or tin datalayer, close my project and start my new one with the new layer. As a note, I also have trouble with exporting from HEC-RAS to ArcView using engish so I convert that also.

I would suggest you consider the new 4.0 RAS, if you can. It handles gis cut data better and requires less work on the crosssections to produce a stable product.
